More News About Categories Doing Well Globally Amid COVID-19

As we spend more time in this strange and worrying situation we find ourselves in, more news is emerging of categories that are doing well during the lockdown.

We continue to see a trend that it is those categories for home pleasures that are growing significantly.

In the last few days we’ve seen reports of games and jigsaws increasing and even some areas in fashion, where there are overall problems, some sub categories are doing well, such as lounge wear.

CNBC reported today on the performance of video games with hard copy sales increasing by 300% over the previous week.

The FT reports on a the growth in sex toy sales numbers from the likes of the UK’s Ann Summers, Germany’s Ritex and EIS all reporting double figure growth.

Meanwhile Forbes covers the story of Chewy, a US pet supplies retailer, who is seeing year on year growth of nearly 35% as consumers buy more to look after and, I guess, entertain their pets.

I’m sure we will see more positive news for some areas of cross border and retail in general in the coming weeks and I hope to bring it too you. There are plenty of places available if you want to read only the bad news!
